What It Does: Gives cheeks long lasting natural color with a pixel-perfect finish.
What It Won't Do: Give you sticky oily cheeks with faded blotchy color.
TIPS: Use fingers or blush brush to pick up the perfect amount of product for optimum application. Double tap across cheeks for an even layer of silky smooth color. For a more light catching finish, layer any of our Softwear Blush in our Glow shades on top.
I was really excited to receive these because blush is hands down one of my favorite makeup products. You can add such a beautiful and natural flush to your face, even with the smallest amount!
The 3 shades I received are FLOWER .AI (matte), ZIP (matte) & FLASH DRIVE (glow).
Each shade is buildable and it's quite easy to pick up the product by gently circling your finger around the surface area. These are very lightweight, buildable and non-greasy. I did find that they have almost a slippery feeling and are quite easy to apply, just by dabbing it directly onto your face. The brand suggests using either your finger or a blush brush to apply. I personally always prefer my finger, because it not only helps with application control, but it seems to warm up cream products. This help prep it to instantly melt into the skin upon contact.
The blushes are rather sheer upon initial application, so for those of you who are shy about cheek color, these are an awesome way to get your toes wet.
The pigmentation intensifies as you add onto your base without any issues with lifting, clumping, or anything else weird that can happen when your adding layers of a cream product onto your skin. They apply almost like the way its light k-beauty counterpart would perform, and have a matte finish without the powdery effect you'd get from a traditional blush.
The Glow Softwear Blush I received was in the shade Flash Drive, which the brand describes as a "cool pink." This shade is somewhat reminiscent of MAC's Shell, only warmer. I am really excited about this neutral shade and believe it will make a beautiful highlight in the summer for all skintones!
Flower .ai is a baby pink matte shade that the brand describes as a "vibrant pink." I really love this shade and it's one that I would choose over and over again. This shade looks so beautiful on so many skintones and can instantly give you an innocent, youthful or dolly appearance. This is my favorite type of blush color to use daily because it brightens up the skin without much effort. I like that this shade in particular can be used for a softer pink vibe, or built up to be a more intense look.
The last shade I received is called Zip, and it's also a part of the Soft Matte collection. This is described as a "soft, petal pink" by the brand, however, I thought it could almost be a cousin of Glossier's Dusk Cloud Paint. It's definitely more pink than Dusk, however, it has the same warm-ish dusty rose shade about it. I am really into this color and will be wearing it in my favorite "sunburn" formation: across the bridge of my nose and connecting with the apples of my cheeks.
This is going to be the perfect shade to warm up fair skintones, while still looking natural and feminine.
Going with the theme of "softwear" aka "software," the shade names range from Megabyte and Cyber to Firewall & Java. The early 2000's teen & IT version of me is very pleased.
I am really looking forward to wearing these this spring/summer and seeing how they hold up in the Florida heat & humidity! Will you be picking these up? I'm really into them!
